Abhishek Nama Rescues ‘Devil’ from Directorial Struggles, Steers Spy Thriller to Completion

In a surprising turn of events, the highly anticipated film ‘Devil’ witnessed a sudden change in its directorial helm, as producer Abhishek Nama stepped up to take charge, replacing Naveen Medaram. The decision came after reports surfaced that leading star Kalyan Ram expressed dissatisfaction with Medaram’s directorial skills, claiming he was ill-equipped to handle a big-budget extravaganza.

According to an industry source, Kalyan Ram, upon observing Naveen for just a couple of days, realized that the director lacked the necessary skills to helm an epic movie. Allegedly, Kalyan was shocked to find Medaram sleeping on set and not displaying the required level of interest. Two other technicians reportedly left the project due to difficulties working with the director.

Unwilling to let the project suffer, Abhishek Nama, who initially served as the producer, decided to don the director’s hat. Despite the challenges of taking over mid-production, Nama expressed confidence in his writer Srikanth Vissa and cinematographer Soundarrajan. The film, with a budget of Rs 40 crore, promises to be a path-breaking spy thriller set in the pre-Independence era, revolving around a secret British Agent.

Abhishek Nama, known primarily as a distributor-turned-producer, now faces the question of whether he will continue directing his productions or revert to hiring regular directors. As of now, the film is slated for release in January, and fans eagerly await the outcome of this unexpected directorial transition. Despite attempts to reach out, Abhishek Nama remained unavailable for comment on this cinematic twist.
