Vijay Deverakonda Denies Filing Police Complaint Against Trolls of “Family Star”

Vijay Deverakonda, the lead actor of the recently released film Family Star, has refuted claims suggesting he filed a police complaint against individuals posting negative reviews or trolling him about the movie. Addressing the matter, Deverakonda clarified that such reports are untrue during an interaction with a film reporter.

Film journalist Haricharan Pudipeddi shared a screenshot of his conversation with the actor on Wednesday via his social media handle. The screenshot displayed a tweet alleging that Vijay had lodged a police complaint against those sharing unfavourable opinions about “Family Star,” accompanied by an image purportedly showing Vijay with law enforcement officers at a press event. When questioned about the validity of the claims, Vijay responded with a simple “Nope.” He further explained that the circulated image was old, dating back to the “Covid times.”

Earlier, a photograph circulated online depicting an individual posing alongside police officials while displaying a document. The accompanying caption on social media claimed the person was a member of Vijay’s team and had lodged a police complaint on behalf of the actor against trolls targeting him and his latest film.

“Family Star,” directed by Parasuram Petla, marks Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur’s maiden collaboration. The film boasts a supporting cast that includes Abhinaya, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, and Ravi Babu, with Rashmika Mandanna making a special appearance.

Produced by Dil Raju, “Family Star” was released on April 5 in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Despite mixed reviews, the movie accumulated ₹16 crore at the domestic box office within its first five days of release.
