Tabu Opens Up About Rumoured Relationship with Nagarjuna Akkineni: “He is One of the Closest People in My Life”

The film industry is no stranger to dating rumours and link-ups, and one such highly speculated relationship was between Tabu and Nagarjuna Akkineni. It was rumoured that Tabu had been in love with the South star for a decade, despite his existing marriage and son, Naga Chaitanya.

In a recent interview, Naga Chaitanya was asked about his rapport with Bollywood celebrities, and he mentioned Tabu. He expressed, “Bonded? Not much. Of course, maximum bonding is with Aamir sir. Tabu, a lot of bonding with her.”

While the dating rumours surrounding Nagarjuna and Tabu made headlines in the 2000s, both Nagarjuna and his wife Amala vehemently denied the speculations. According to reports, Tabu and Nagarjuna allegedly lived together but never formalized their relationship.

During her appearance on the popular talk show Koffee With Karan, Tabu was asked about the recurring rumours about Nagarjuna. She responded by saying, “This Nagarjuna story is very old. It keeps coming back. I always wonder if it feels like the media wants to give this expression that whether I have boyfriends or not, boyfriends come, boyfriends go but…”

She continued, “I don’t know what to say about it except that he is one of the closest people in my life. He is one of the most important relationships I have. My relationship with him is very dear to me. Also, nothing can ever alter or change my relationship with him. I don’t have a label for it. I can’t do anything about it.”

While Tabu remains single today, Nagarjuna is happily married to Amala Akkineni. He shares a son, Naga Chaitanya, with his first wife, Lakshmi Daggubati, and another son, Akhil, with Amala.

On the professional front, Naga Chaitanya was last seen in Venkat Prabhu’s Custody, which received positive reviews from audiences. Although he is yet to announce his next project, reports suggest that he will soon collaborate with director Chandoo Mondeti for an upcoming film, produced by Allu Aravind under the Geetha Arts banner.

The candid revelations by Tabu and Naga Chaitanya shed light on their connections and remind us of the complexities and speculations that often surround celebrity relationships in the entertainment industry.
