Prabhas’ Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire Release Date Uncertain, Aiming for 2024

Fans eagerly awaiting Prabhas‘ action-packed thriller, Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire, may need to exercise a bit more patience, as the film’s release date appears to be uncertain. Initially scheduled for September 28, this year, film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan recently tweeted that the movie might not hit theaters until 2024. He stated, “As per trade, pan-India star Prabhas’ Salaar is not looking at a release date this year. Salaar Ceasefire is aiming at a 2024 release.”

The delay in Salaar‘s release has given rise to various speculations, including reports suggesting that extensive VFX work is one of the contributing factors pushing the film’s release to a later date. In his recent tweet, Manobala Vijayabalan added, “The team is working tirelessly to meet the highest standards. They are making the final touches on the film and committed to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience.”

This isn’t the first time Salaar‘s release date has faced postponement. Earlier this month, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the delay, tweeting, “Breaking news… Prabhas’s SALAAR to arrive in November… Salaar is NOT arriving on 28 September 2023, it’s OFFICIAL now… The post-production work of this Prabhas-starrer is going on in full swing… Hombale Films – the producers – are bringing the film in November 2023… New release date soon.”

Speculation arose that Salaar‘s release was rescheduled due to the craze surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which was released on September 7. However, on September 13, the makers, Hombale Films, issued a statement explaining the delay: “We deeply appreciate your unwavering support for Salaar. With consideration, we must delay the original September 28 release due to unforeseen circumstances. Please understand this decision is made with care, as we’re committed to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. Our team is working tirelessly to meet the highest standards. The new release date will be revealed in due course…”

Salaar, directed by the acclaimed director Prashanth Neel of KGF fame, is set to release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi. The movie features Prabhas in the titular role and stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, and Ramachandra Raju. The film, initially announced in December 2020, is touted to be a gripping action thriller and marks the first collaboration between Prashanth Neel and Prabhas.
