In response to the devastating landslides in Wayanad, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have generously donated Rs 20 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Their contribution is a heartfelt gesture aimed at supporting those affected by the recent natural calamity.
The couple expressed their grief and solidarity through an open letter shared on Instagram, addressed to the Chief Minister’s office in Kerala. They praised the efforts of relief workers and volunteers, stating, “It has been extremely heartening to see the coordinated response from our government, volunteers, rescue teams, and several other organizations, all working tirelessly to provide crucial aid and support to those in need. Let us unite in strength and compassion to help rebuild and heal.”
Their donation adds to the substantial support from other South Indian film stars. Rashmika Mandanna previously contributed Rs 10 lakh, while cinema legend Mammootty donated Rs 20 lakh in person. Additionally, Suriya, Karthi, and Jyothika have collectively donated Rs 50 lakh to the relief fund.
On the professional front, Vignesh Shivan is preparing for the release of his film Love Insurance Kompany, featuring Krithi Shetty. Nayanthara is also busy with a slate of upcoming films, including Test, Dear Students, Good Bad Ugly, and Toxic.
Among the many greetings she received, one in particular caught the attention of fans — a message rumoured to be from her alleged boyfriend.
Nani explained that the group was created simply to stay in touch and served as a casual platform for sharing jokes and chatting, much like any close-knit friends' group.
