Court Orders Arrest of Former BJP MP Jaya Prada for Violating Code of Conduct

Former  MP and film actor Jaya Prada faces arrest after being declared ‘absconding’ in two cases related to code of conduct violations. Despite repeated notices and non-bailable warrants, Jaya Prada failed to appear for a court hearing, prompting the court to issue orders for her arrest.

The MP/MLA court in Rampur issued CrPC order 82 against Jaya Prada for her non-appearance, following numerous unsuccessful attempts to secure her presence in court. The cases pertain to alleged violations of the 2019 election code of conduct, registered in the Special MP/MLA Court, Rampur, involving Kemri and Swar police stations.

Jaya Prada’s repeated failure to appear in court led to the issuance of non-bailable warrants against her. The court received a report indicating that she was evading authorities and had her mobile phone switched off.

In response to her continued absence, the court ordered action under Section 82 CrPC and scheduled the next hearing for March 6.
