Anupam Kher Speaks Up on Ideologies in Bollywood, Says He is India-Centric

Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, known for his candid opinions, recently spoke about his ideologies and political views in the film industry. In an interview with Smita Prakash on ANI Podcast, Kher expressed that he is India-centric and his first interest lies in the welfare of the nation. He further added that his views may align with the present government as they also prioritize the betterment of India. However, he clarified that he is not associated with any political party.

Kher also addressed the reluctance of celebrities to share their political ideologies and opinions. He stated that actors have a fan base and their views can easily be misconstrued or lead to issues. He cited examples of veteran actors Dev Anand and Vijay Anand, who were vocal about their political ideologies, but their work coexisted with their beliefs.

Kher recently played a significant role in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, which was based on the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits. The film was criticized by some for its alleged political propaganda. However, Kher and Agnihotri have been open about their admiration for the central government, which led to the accusations.
