Vijay Deverakonda says “I didn’t go anywhere”

Right after its inception, Vijay Deverakonda starrer Liger made headlines. However, the film performed poorly at the box office. Since the release of the film, actor Vijay Deverakonda has often talked about the film’s failure, the most recent being the SIIMA 2022. Once again, he has opened up about bouncing back after the failure of Liger.

For the unversed, Vijay attended an event recently, where he gave a speech. In his speech, the actor stated that he has not gone anywhere to make a comeback. As per a video shared on Telugu Film Nagar’s Twitter handle, Vijay says, “Wherever I go, fans keep saying, anna, you have to give a comeback. I wanted to tell you, I didn’t go anywhere.”

Liger was promoted aggressively as a pan-Indian film, especially after filmmaker Karan Johar came on board to release the Hindi version. Along with Vijay, the star cast of the Puri Jagannadh directorial also featured Ananya Panday, Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy.

Before the release of Liger, the actor-director duo, Deverakonda and Jagannadh, had announced another collaboration titled Jana Gana Mana. However, later it was reported that the project has been shelved now.

Earlier, speaking on Liger’s failure at SIIMA 2022, Vijay addressed the poor performance of his Bollywood debut project and said that he did not want to attend the event but still did. While receiving the Youth icon of South Indian cinema (male) award, he said, Actually I didn’t want to be here taking this award but I came here. As I speak to you, I promise to you I will get the job done for all of you. You will be entertained. Great cinema will be made. Thank you all. It’s such an honour to be here.”

Coming to his professional front, the 33-year-old actor is currently busy shooting for his next Telugu film Kushi.
