Rana Daggubati calls nepotism a ‘mistake if children fail to continue the legacy; Nani says ‘people watching are promoting it’

In the past, the debate of nepotism has caused a lot of stirs in the film industry with many stating their opinion about the concept. While some outsiders have spoken about their unfair opportunities given to star kids, the latter have always spoken about the pressure of living upto the legacy their parents have created. Voicing out similar thoughts, Rana Daggubati, opened up on his thoughts about nepotism along with Nani giving his two cents about the subject.

In a recent episode of Nijam With Smita that streams on SonyLIV, Rana Daggubati appeared on the talk show along with actor-producer Nani. In the recently released promo of the same, he opened up about nepotism. He said, “If you can’t carry on your parents’ achievements and legacy, then it’s a mistake you are doing to your family.” Further continuing the conversation, Nani added, “There are one lakh people to watch my first film but one crore people to watch Charan’s (Ram Charan) first film. So people watching are the ones promoting nepotism, right?”

Readers would be aware that Rana Daggubati hails from the popular Telugu Daggubati family with his father being a renowned producer whereas superstar Venkatesh Daggubati is his uncle.

On the work front, Rana and Venkatesh will be sharing screen space in the web show Rana Naidu that will stream on Netflix from March 10. Whereas, Nani is gearing up for the release of his pan India film Dasara, co-starring Keerthy Suresh that is slated to release in multiple languages on March 30.

Talking about the show, Nijam With Smitha featuring the duo of Rana and Nani will be streaming on February 24 on SonyLIV.
