Pippa,” the highly anticipated war epic set to premiere on Prime Video this Diwali, narrates a gripping tale of patriotism and sacrifice during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced under the banners of RSVP and Roy Kapur Films, the film takes inspiration from Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta’s book ‘The Burning Chaffees’, chronicling the remarkable journey of Captain Balram Singh Mehta, portrayed by the talented Ishaan, and the valiant 45th Cavalry Tank Squadron.

The movie’s title, “Pippa,” pays homage to the PT-76 amphibious tank, fondly referred to as “Pippa,” symbolizing the unwavering resilience and fluidity reminiscent of the historic battlefields. With a compelling screenplay co-authored by Ravinder Randhawa, Tanmay Mohan, and Menon, and a powerful musical score by the legendary A.R. Rahman, the film’s narrative delves into the tumultuous accounts of courage and heroism, resonating with audiences worldwide.

The film’s trailer unveils a poignant portrayal of the Battle of Garibpur, a significant chapter in the Indian history of the liberation of Bangladesh.
