Mrunal Thakur enthralled her fans with her on-stage debut performance at the 67th Filmfare Awards South. The star-studded award function was held last night in Bengaluru. As much as it was exciting for her fans, it was also equally thrilling for Mrunal. She was seen performing on songs from her debut Telugu movie, Sita Ramam.

The talented actress says, “There are too many firsts here. Sita Ramam is my first Telugu movie and this was my first performance on stage. The rehearsals itself are so thrilling, I was ecstatic for the final performance on stage. The audience were not just the fans but also fraternity people from all the four southern industries. There will be many I know already and many I met for the first time, so it was important for me and I was looking forward to it.”

Talking about the starry night, the best film award was given to the late director Sachy’s action entertainer Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Meanwhile, the best director award was presented to the newbie director Senna Hegde. The Best male actor award was bagged by Biju Menon for the movie Ayyappanum Koshiyum and the best female actor is Nimisha Sajayan for her performance in The Great Indian Kitchen.

Coming back to Mrunal, her last movie Sita Raman has been one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. The movie also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna and Sumanth in the lead. Interestingly, Thakur has an interesting line up. She will be next seen in Pippa alongside Ishaan Khatter and Pooja Meri Jaan opposite Huma Qureshi.
