The title teaser of Dhruva Sarja-starrer KD – The Devil was unveiled on Thursday in Bengaluru. For the launch event, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt also joined the makers and the star cast. During the event, Dutt opened up about working in the south film industry while mentioning that he is keen to work more in regional films.
For the unversed, Sanju will be seen playing a pivotal role in KD – The Devil. Before this, he was seen as Adheera in KGF: Chapter 2. While speaking about south cinema, the actor said that ‘Bollywood must not forget its roots’.
As per an ETimes report, Sanjay said, “I worked in KGF and now I am working with director Prem in KD – The Devil. I am really looking forward to it and I wish the team all the best. I also feel that I am going to work more in south Indian films,” at the event.
Elaborating more on the same, Dutt spoke about the KGF franchise, and the ‘passion’ he sees in south Indian films and filmmakers. He asserted, “KD has an amazing teaser. I know one thing that I have done KGF and SS Rajamouli sir is a dear friend. I see so much passion, love, energy, and heroism in the films made in the South. I think we need to learn that back in Mumbai. Bollywood must not forget its roots.”
On the professional front, the 63-year-old actor was last seen in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera. Though it was one of the most awaited films, the period film performed poorly at the box office. Coming to KD – The Devil, Dhruva Sarja plays the lead role in it.
The Prem-directorial is said to be set in the backdrop of the 1970s and based on real-life incidents. The forthcoming film will have a pan-Indian release in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi languages, next year
